A RAINBOW FOR THE KIDS

In St. Thomas USVIs on the way to the post office, we passed a small nursery school. Often, we would see book bags stacked up in the little cubbies or hear children playing. The yard was neat and there were lots of toys and educational posters. However, there was a very worn-out, sad and ratty windsock hanging on a post out front. It was clear it once shown the colors of the rainbow, but now it was gray. This would not do! We purchased a new rainbow windsock and hung it one day without telling anyone.

FOOD AND CHEER FOR THE HOMELESS

Do you pass hungry people in your town? Consider making a big stack of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, buy a few hands of bananas and a case of water. Then make fun cards that brighten someone’s day and hand out the bagged lunches to those in need. People are thirsty and haven’t eaten in too long. Some people living on the street have mental disorders. Have compassion for those around you. Look them in the eye and tell them they matter.

A KIND NOTE

Whether at work or at home, surprise someone with a thoughtful note of thanks. You can create your own using images downloaded from the internet, or draw a sweet design on the outside of an envelope. Of course, you can also purchase pretty stationary. Take time to create a little gift of thanks for someone who has made a difference in your life. Don’t wait until it’s too late! Your positive energy will help them shine their own lovelight!
